Eileen Laubacher has a message for the Republican Party she used to call home: this isn’t fiscal responsibility. The former Republican and Democratic challenger to Rep. Lauren Boebert blasted the GOP over the 2025 reconciliation law, rising costs and pressure on rural hospitals — arguing that Boebert’s votes are making life harder for people across Colorado’s 4th District. CBO estimates the law will add about $4.1 trillion to federal deficits through 2034 when debt-service costs are included. Now Laubacher is trying to unseat Boebert in November.
