Colorado is bringing back its popular e-bike rebates this month, Gov. Jared Polis and the Colorado Energy Office announced Aug. 6.
From Aug. 24-31, income-qualified Colorado residents can register for e-bike rebate vouchers for $1,000 toward the purchase of eligible e-bikes, with additional rebates available for qualifying cargo and adaptive e-bikes.
Point-of-sale rebates are only available to those who complete a rebate registration, and rebates are only available to each Colorado resident once in a lifetime.
Eligibility for the e-bike rebates
Eligibility is limited to residents 18 and older with household incomes below 80% of the area median for their county or who are enrolled in any of the following financial-assistance programs, according to the program’s website:
- Colorado Affordable Residential Energy (CARE) Program
- Colorado’s Weather Assistance Program (WAP)
- Medicaid
- Regional Transportation District (RTD) LiVE
- Section 8 voucher holder
- Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)
- Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
- State of Colorado Low-Income-Energy Assistance Program (LEAP)
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
Eligible residents must register online during the designated periods, which run from 11 a.m. on the starting date to noon on the end date. The first period is Aug. 24-31, with additional registration periods scheduled for Oct. 19-26, 2026; Jan. 11-18, 2027; and March 15-22, 2027, according to the website.
Rebate recipients will be selected randomly among eligible residents who register online during the designated periods. Those selected will be notified by email and must redeem their rebate at a participating retailer within 60 days, the website notes.
Accounts can be created online in advance and require proof of Colorado residence and income eligibility.
