With hundreds losing their homes in the Aspen Acres Fire, Pueblo County election staff want to ensure that all voters have their ballots delivered to the correct address.
With ballots for the Nov. 5 election set to be delivered on Oct. 5, Pueblo County Clerk and Recorder Candace Rivera shared a news release encouraging victims of the fire to verify that their voter registration is updated with the most accurate information.
The clerk’s office “recognizes that our neighbors affected by the Aspen Acres Fire are facing many challenges, and updating voter registration may not be a top priority during this difficult time,” the news release stated.
What Aspen Acres Fire victims should do and how
Individuals staying in temporary housing are asked to keep their residential address as their current residence, while updating their mailing address to their current temporary location on voter registration.
Voter registration may be updated before Oct. 5 by visiting the Pueblo County Election Office on the seventh floor of 201 W. 8th St. The office is open Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Registration also may be updated at GoVoteColorado.gov. Additional questions may be directed to the Pueblo County election staff at 719-583-6620.
